After working more than 13 years at Softimage as a software developer for a video editing software, I learned how to do video editing and developed an interest in creating videos and short films of all kind. As most good dads at the end of XXth century, I had a good video camera and made many montage of images I captured during family events. My most popular one on YouTube is about an important event at the end of the XXth century in the Montreal region, the Ice Storm crisis of 1998.

Then, I became a member of Kino Montréal where I presented about 30 short films over a few years at the begining of the XXIst century (about half of them are available on YouTube). About 15 years later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I started collaborating with Google colleagues and other musicians to record cover songs and make videos. I had fun with a couple of songs for which I rewrote the lyrics inspired by COVID and one of them (based on The Police hit Don't stand so close to me) was played on the Infoman TV show (Tiens toé pas proche de moé). After that I started writing my own songs again (as I used to do when I was younger as described on my Musician page).

Finally, when I retired in Fall 2023, I started creating small videos explaining stuff I find cool with lots of science and a bit of humour called "Laisse MAD dire" (which means let MAD tell, but also sounds like let me tell you in French). I also started making all kinds of videos and one of them got viral in Spring 2025, with a rewrite of the lyrics of a song from the Asterix Cleopatra cartoon called The arsenic pudding, which I turned in Arsenic comments making fun of social media trolls.

Back to writing and directing short films

After playing as an Actor in Etienne Landry's short film S'aimer en couleur, we had so much fun as a team that I decided to write a script specifically for this team. Etienne was supposed to direct it, but couldn't because of scheduling conflicts so I took care of directing it, and we created an interesting hommage to the Quebec October Crisis of 1970 titled "Changeons le monde un ministre à la fois".

Proud of the results (2 honnorable mentions from italian short file festivals, and an official sélection at the Verbec festival), I decided to write and direct another one titled "À tout prix" which is nos starting its own short film festivals tour.
